Nellie Low

Nellie was born in Ipoh, Perak. She is married to Chandy Samuel, and together they have two adult children, Melissa and Daniel Samuel. She was working in the corporate sector in the hospitality and F& B industries for 27 years before answering God’s call to full time ministry in Calvaryland, a Christian nonprofit organisation.

From Corporate to Ministry:
Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33) – kept appearing before me in various forms from the time I felt the Holy Spirit’s prompting and God’s direction to serve. Resigned from a corporate career of 25 years, I asked the Lord to place me out of my comfort zone.

Caregiving for the elderly has been both rewarding and challenging. Just when I think I have learned to manage well, I am reminded that human behaviour and emotions are unpredictable. At times, I felt inadequate—believing I was not spiritual enough, lacked experience, and had insufficient knowledge in elder care.

God impressed upon me this truth: In learning to surrender to Him, He uses and places us exactly where He has chosen. Our readiness to serve Him and others is measured by His standards, not ours. The foundation of serving God is our love for Christ.”
